The 2015 Shenzhen Cup Summer Camp of Mathematical Modeling opened on Friday at SUSTC with the participants from Tsinghua University, Fudan University,Shanghai Jiao Tong University and other well-known universities in China.

In a five-day summer camp,co-organized by the organizing committee of  China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest In Modeling, Shenzhen  Association for Science and Technology and the South University of Science and Technology ,attracted over 216 students and teachers to participate.

Professor Shige Peng ,one of the most famous Chinese mathematician ,an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the opening ceremony as the special guest.

Jiangyuyang,president of Shenzhen  Association for Science and Technology, Ma Jianwen, vice president of the association, Professor Shuping Chen, vice director of the organizing committee of  China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest In Modeling and Professor Jinxing Xie, secretary general of organizing committee attended the activity.

Jiang yuyang,president of Shenzhen  Association for Science and Technology,announced the opening of the summer camp by giving the flag to Vice President Tao Tang.

After the ceremony, Professor Peng, the academician, and Professor Tao Tang gave the theme lectures.

With the development of science and technology，scientific research goes increasingly in a quantitative and mathematical method to solve problem. Therefore, to study the mathematical models and to organize the mathematical modeling contest may have more important meanings and values. The 2015 Shenzhen Cup Summer Camp of Mathematical Modeling at SUSTC may promote the development of this activity and train innovation ability and practice ability of our students.
